In our last blog, we gave you four tips to help you design a successful custom banner. Here are four more tips to help you polish off your design and ensure that your banner is as effective as possible.

Try to use a single font throughout your banner. If you switch fonts, your banner is likely to lack unity and be less effective.

When you reprint the banner, change the design so your customers are seeing a fresh banner even if it covers the same topic or information. This will hold interest longer.

Try to balance the amount of text you use and the images and logos you insert in your banner. Too much of one or the other will make your banner look uninteresting and will lessen its effectiveness.

Make sure to highlight key words and discounts. This helps the meat of your message to stand out to customers and will keep interest for longer. Your goal with banners is for people to be able to look at them and get the information in as little time as possible. Highlighting helps with this.

About 75 percent of the journey towards creating a successful, effective banner occurs in the design stages of production, while the last 25 percent lies in printing. We have you covered for printing, but here are four tips to help you design a custom banner that is sure to catch people’s attention.

Before you even begin designing, conduct research on your topic, whether this entails conducting customer surveys about the product you are advertising or looking up information about a specific issue you want to promote. Accuracy is key in advertising, and good research will enable you to produce an accurate banner.

Remember: less is more. Once you get started, it can be tempting to add flourishes and complex design elements, but we have found that the simpler the design, the more effective the banner is.

When appropriate, use colors that are bright and catchy, such as vibrant blues, greens, reds and yellows. Lively colors and full color photographs help make banners more interesting.

Make sure your banner is organized and the message is easy to find. People won’t stick around long enough to receive your message if it is buried to far in your design.

If you own a restaurant or food service business, this is for you! With spring finally warming and summer drawing near, it’s the perfect time to remove some of those heavier winter items on your menu and make room for lighter, colder foods like cold soup or smaller sandwiches.

Take a look at your menus and ask yourself honestly if it’s time for an update. Even if your menus are still in pretty good condition, you may want to consider updating the items you offer for spring. By updating your menus, you can please loyal customers and also attract new customers.

If your old menus are still in good shape, you may want to keep hold of them and bring them back out again when the weather starts to cool. Many restaurant owners find that people appreciate the new options in different seasons, and are more inclined to recommend their friends to eat at your restaurant as well. Whether you want a tri-fold menu or you prefer to use our booklet printing service for a longer menu, we’ve got the skills and machinery to print the menus you are looking for.

There are many components to a good marketing campaign, including advertising, displays and some freebies for customers, like bookmarks or other small branded items. One marketing campaign feature that can help push your campaign over the top though is greeting cards. In a marketing world where most advertisements and communication with customers lacks much of an individual touch, greeting cards help bridge the gap between business and personal.

By writing or printing a personalized greeting card and sending it to your valued customers, you help make them feel special and facilitate a good relationship between your customers and your business.

While it may not seem like a big thing, studies show that greeting cards can go a long way in creating positive feelings in customers toward your company. Whether the cards have a floral print on them or your company logo, it’s the thought that counts, so next time you are ordering custom posters, add blank greeting cards to your shopping cart as well.

In 15 years of poster printing, we’ve seen every kind of design you can imagine, from standard and informative to groundbreaking-ly creative. Because of this, we truly believe in posters as an effective marketing element. If you pair the perfect colors and have great design elements, there’s no reason your poster won’t be successful in drawing attention to the great products and services that you offer.

In addition to putting posters up in public places where people are likely to see them, they can also be useful as a give-away tool. Many people collect posters either as a hobby or to use as decoration at their office or home. By designing a poster that centers on your company or one of your products and making it particularly artistic and creative, you are creating an item that many people would be happy to purchase or win.

You can sell them at your business to generate extra profit or give them away to generate extra goodwill. Either way, we know they will be a hit.

In ordering custom banners, brochures and posters for your summer advertising campaign, don’t forget about your windows! It’s time to begin designing your summer window displays, and as you are doing so, consider adding custom cut vinyl lettering to the mix.

It’s a good idea to have window graphics to install while you are switching out your window display. Once you are finished switching your display though, it’s important to convey a clear, enticing message to your customers. While you can say a lot with the items and elements that you have in your display, sometimes it can help to be able to get your message across more literally with letters and words. Whether it’s putting “sale” on your window or your summer slogan, vinyl letters look clean and stand out.

Vinyl lettering can be used again and again since they aren’t dated, and can be recycled individually if needed, making them a longer lasting option than ordering banners for your window displays each season. Call today for pricing information.

If you start now, you have time to design all of your campaign elements, order them and begin spacing release of coupons, previews and such. Here are a few summer marketing products you may want to include.

Order coupon booklets from a booklet printing service. These are perfect for summer campaigns because you can distribute them at any time as long as the expiration date on the coupon is late enough. Whether you distribute them early so people anticipate your summer sales and items or in the middle to revive excitement, they will have a similar effect.

Order custom banners that have fun summer colors and details on them to get people in the summer mood when they visit your store.

Consider designing new window graphics to put up while you are in the process of changing your window display from spring to summer.

In designing your company’s new brochures with the help of a brochure maker, there are a range of different folds you can choose between. Most people tend to thing of either the typical rack card brochure, or a two or three-panel roll fold, but there are almost three times the amount of possibilities, and each fold can help you say different things in your brochure.

Past three panels, there are several folding options of four panel brochures, and you should consider the natural design possibilities of each when deciding which to use. For example, the four-panel gatefold enables people to pull back two panels to see a main image on the center two panels behind. If you want a larger image though, you can use a 4-panel accordion fold so that customers open the entire brochure and have a small poster of information.

Many four-panel brochures, if designed well, can be transformed into posters with charts or visually interesting designs and more. This encourages people to hold on to your brochure and remember your company.

When you sit down to design your brochure, begin by asking yourself what you would like to say, and how each fold can help you convey that message before making your choice.

Brochures are a very valuable advertising and marketing tool, and when ordered from an economic, quality brochure maker, they give companies an inexpensive but effective method to reach customers. Here are some design ideas to help you while you are compiling your company’s next brochure.

Simplicity – This doesn’t mean that you have to design a minimalist brochure, but it does mean that you should eliminate any distracting elements on your design. You want people to get to the message easily, not be distracted by a handful of decorative design elements that do little but detract from the point.

Color - When possible, print your brochure in color. You can use black and white effectively, but color is much more likely to catch people’s eyes than simple black and white is.

Illustrations: Using photos, diagrams and drawings are important since they help hold focus and break up the text on your brochure. Play around with placement as well – it’s okay if photos are only part on the page as long as it looks good and the relevant portion of the photo is on the brochure.
